VFS Capital is the leading microfinance company in Eastern India, formerly known as Village Financial Services. Established in 1996, VFS Capital's mission is encapsulated in their slogan, "Towards 1 Million Customers." Registered by RBI under Section 45 IA of the RBI Act, 1934, VFS Capital has made significant strides in microfinance operations since the financial year 2005-2006. Based in Kolkata, West Bengal, the company has positively impacted the lives of numerous underprivileged women by providing them with credit for income-generating activities. VFS Capital has played a crucial role in women's empowerment, enabling them to attain financial independence, uplift their families' living standards, and enhance their societal status. Notably, VFS Capital is the first microfinance institution in eastern India to achieve NBFC status and the first MFI in India with ISO certification.
