Grameen Koota

Grameen Koota is a financial services company that aims to provide timely and affordable credit to India's poor and low-income households. Operating in 5 Indian states, with a customer base of nearly 2 million women, the company offers collateral-free loans and non-financial services to empower women from marginalized communities. Founded in 1999 as a project under the T. Muniswamappa Trust, Grameen Koota was initially supported by Grameen Trust, Bangladesh and later registered as a Non-Banking Financial Company in 2007, reclassified as a Non-Banking Financial Company - Micro Finance Institutions entity by the Reserve Bank of India in 2013. The company's mission is to facilitate access to credit for rural women, enabling them to establish small or microenterprises and contribute to the growth of India’s rural economy. With their recent move to a new platform, Grameen Koota continues to champion financial inclusion and empowerment in India.
