Technovation is a global tech education nonprofit empowering girls to become leaders, creators, and problem-solvers. Through volunteer mentors and parents, girls code mobile apps addressing real-world issues. 300,000+ students in 100+ countries have participated in their programs. As part of its core programs, Technovation Girls equips girls worldwide with skills to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Its alumnae have achieved success in startup and app-building competitions, spoken at prestigious events, received accolades, and secured internships with leading technology companies, educational institutions, and government agencies.
Founded in 2006 by aerospace engineer Tara Chklovski as Iridescent, Technovation has evolved from local Family Science nights in Los Angeles to a global nonprofit across 100+ countries. Their most recent $456.26K grant investment was secured on 30 July 2024 from AmeriCorps Public Allies. Technovation exemplifies the power of girls, families, and communities to bring about technological change on a global scale.
