Founded in 1956 by the National Cancer Institute, their impactful trials have resulted in the approval of 14 cancer drugs, changed over 100 standards of cancer care, and saved more than 3 million years of human life. Based at the Knight Cancer Institute in Portland, OR and San Antonio, TX, SWOG runs its statistics and data management center from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and Cancer Research And Biostatistics (CRAB) in Seattle, WA.
