SALSA Food - Company Profile

Safe And Local Supplier Approval is the UK's food safety certification scheme for small food & drink businesses. SALSA certification, based on standards for food safety management, is valued and recognised by the majority of major UK food buyers including Waitrose, Sainsbury's, ASDA, Co-op, Selfridges and the NHS to name a few. It is fully supported by the Food Standards Agency. Importantly, the Scheme offers comprehensive support and guidance to our members seeking and maintaining their approval. Since its launch in 2007, active membership has grown to over 2000 members, producing some of the UK's most exciting an innovative food and brands. For many of these, SALSA provided the 'launching pad'​ for their business success and has opened doors to supply major retailers, foodservice providers and public sector operators. Based in North Oxfordshire, the operations team trains, manages and supports a team of 80+ professional food auditors and mentors based across the UK.
