Ragazzi Boys Chorus is an education and music-focused startup that was founded in 1987. The company's slogan sums up its mission, which is to provide outstanding musical education and performance opportunities for boys and young men aged 5 to 18. Ragazzi has established itself as the largest Peninsula-based boys chorus, with over 200 singers from more than 100 schools and over 30 coastside and valley communities participating in the program. Under the leadership of Artistic and Executive Director Kent Jue, Ragazzi Boys Chorus performs a wide range of traditional and contemporary works for both the treble and changed voice and regularly concertizes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Notably, the chorus frequently collaborates with other prominent Bay Area performing arts organizations including the San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, Opera San Jose, and many others. A significant achievement for Ragazzi was its participation in the San Francisco Symphony’s recording of Stravinsky’s Perséphone, which contributed to the Symphony's 1999 GRAMMY award for best classical album and best orchestral performance. The startup further solidified its reputation for excellence by making its Carnegie Hall debut in 2014 and regularly touring in the United States and internationally. This analysis demonstrates Ragazzi Boys Chorus’ strong presence in the education and music sectors, exemplified by its successful programs, notable collaborations, and musical achievements.
