MEDS (Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies) is a Christian not-for-profit organization established in 1986, registered as a Trust of the ecumenical partnership of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya. The organization serves over 2,200 organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa, providing reliable, quality, and affordable essential drugs and medical supplies. Initially founded to support church health units, MEDS has evolved to shape the medical supply chain in Kenya and the wider sub-Saharan region. In addition to supplying essential medical products to more than 2,000 health facilities, MEDS offers capacity-building programs for health workers, quality control, and other pharmaceutical services, contributing significantly to the healthcare industry in the region.
