MedCity is a London-based life sciences cluster organization established in 2014 by the Mayor of London and the city’s three Academic Health Science Centres. Funded by the Greater London Authority and Research England, MedCity serves as a neutral convener across industry, academia, and the public sector.
London and the greater south east boast a robust life sciences cluster, housing over 3,400 companies in the sector, four of the world’s top ten universities, 19 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies, and renowned research centers including The Francis Crick Institute, Harwell Oxford, and The Sanger Institute. MedCity’s vision is to establish the region as the premier location for health and life sciences innovation, R&D, manufacture, and commercialization.
