InnerSource Commons Foundation

InnerSource Commons Foundation is a community of industry professionals and researchers, working to promote InnerSource - the application of Open Source principles and practices within enterprises. The foundation aims to facilitate cross-team collaboration and enhance efficiency by leveraging Open Source principles. Founded in 2015, it has since connected over 3000 individuals from 750+ companies, academic institutions, and government agencies. Notably, the InnerSource Commons Foundation was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) public charity on February 19th, 2020.

The organization's vision is to empower global organizations and individuals to apply open collaboration in their internal work. Additionally, it serves as a neutral hub and central collaboration space for InnerSource knowledge. The foundation is committed to maintaining its independence and operating on a lean budget while building an inclusive community and forming industry partnerships to drive the conversation about InnerSource and shepherd the InnerSource body of knowledge.
