Hurst Manufacturing Company started as Rock Island Packaging Corporation, also known as RIPCO, in 1965 by founder William Hurst. Initially focusing on subcontracting packaging and advertising displays, the company's vision was to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products promptly. As RIPCO expanded through the 60s and 70s, it acquired land in Milan, Illinois, constructing a 28,500 square foot facility on four acres.
In the 1980s, the industrial contract packaging sector saw growth, leading RIPCO to expand its existing building in 1981 and develop a new structure for the wood division in 1987, increasing the total facilities to 170,000 square feet on 13 acres.
Shifting focus towards sustainable materials in the 2000s, the company formed All Corr Specialties to replace wood pallets with eco-friendly corrugated ones in 2005. The acquisition of Creative Packaging in 2011 led to the consolidation of all divisions under the new name Hurst Manufacturing in 2012. The company initiated a 27,000 square foot expansion in 2013.
Presently led by William’s sons, Todd and Marc Hurst, the company continues its commitment to producing lightweight corrugated pallets, reducing shipping costs, minimizing worker injury, and emphasizing 100% recyclable products. Offering complete customization, Hurst Manufacturing's team of industry experts is dedicated to providing cost-effective shipping solutions. They welcome all businesses to contact them for assistance.
