Girls on the Run International is a youth development program that aims to inspire girls in 3rd-8th grade to be joyful, healthy, and confident through a fun, evidence-based curriculum that incorporates movement. The program teaches life skills through interactive lessons and running games, with a culminating celebratory 5K running event to prepare the girls physically and emotionally. Founded in 1996, Girls on the Run International (GOTRI) is the umbrella organization for over 200 local councils across the United States and Canada. The organization establishes, trains, and supports these councils with local volunteers who serve as role models through coaching the 10-week, 20-lesson curriculum in after-school programs, recreation centers, and non-profit settings.
The last investment of $60.00K grant was received on 15 November 2021 from Napa Valley Vintners to support the organization's mission and vision. With a focus on creating a world where every girl can realize her potential and pursue her dreams, Girls on the Run International continues to make a positive impact on the lives of young girls through physical activity, mentorship, and empowerment.
