CO-LABS, Inc. is a non-profit consortium focused on championing Colorado's world-class federal research lab ecosystem. Comprising federal research laboratories, institutions, universities, colleges, businesses, and economic development organizations, the company provides financial and in-kind support for programs that promote the retention and expansion of Colorado's scientific resources. The organization emphasizes the importance of science as a fundamental source of humanity's progress, a limitless resource for insight and answers, and a source of wonder that can awe and inspire. Federally-Funded research labs in Colorado contribute $2.6 billion/year to the state's economy and provide 17,000 direct and indirect jobs (Source: CO-LABS 2016 Economic Impact Study). CO-LABS engages in various activities such as events, economic analyses, strategic communications, and networking to PROMOTE Colorado as a global leader in research and technology, EDUCATE the public about the labs’ impact, and the importance of sustained funding, and CONNECT the labs, universities, and businesses to facilitate partnerships and technology transfer.
