Base de plein air Bon départ is a nonprofit organization owned by the Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec. It aims to promote the development of vulnerable children and individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing them with an unforgettable experience of summer camp, sports, and outdoor activities in an exceptional natural environment.
In addition to serving clientele with special needs, the organization also hosts numerous school groups, youth, families, organizations, and businesses for customized stays in the great outdoors.
Located in Wentworth-Nord in the Laurentians, the facility, which can accommodate up to 300 people, is open year-round and certified by the Association des camps du Québec, as well as classified as a 4-star establishment by the CITQ (Corporation de l'industrie touristique du Québec). The site covers 542 acres, providing access to 5 lakes, observation points, kilometers of forest trails, and a multitude of activities in all seasons.
Having recently completed a strategic and operational reflection exercise that will guide its actions for the years ahead, the organization is actively working on the deployment of its post-pandemic action plan.
