Ancestris

Ancestris is a genealogy startup that focuses on providing free genealogy services. Founded in 2015, Ancestris is driven by the belief in free genealogy, emphasizing that users should have control over their data and the freedom to transmit their work to future generations. The association, comprised of volunteers, is dedicated to developing and distributing a comprehensive genealogy software, Ancestris, which is open source and does not restrict user data. The software, developed in Java, is compatible with MacOS, Windows, and Linux. Beyond software development, Ancestris also fosters a community of developers, translators, and users, and works to promote the application in public spaces, ensuring accessibility for all.
