American Legacy Theatre

American Legacy Theatre is a theatre for social change with a mission to be accessible, affordable, relevant, and exciting for all people, and to represent all voices. A.L.T. generates inviting, reimagined theatrical experiences for people to have a voice in enriching society. The vision of A.L.T. is to ensure that every American has access to the empathy-building art form of theatre and has a respected voice "in the room where it happens." The company's work spans across various sectors: In Classrooms, the Students Create Change (SC2) program helps students write, design, and act in their own original productions around critical social issues. In Community, American Legacy Theatre uses theatre as a nomadic vehicle for social change to break down barriers and build bridges by increasing empathy and driving awareness into action. In Homes, the Home Theatre program pairs a community member with an artist to share their truths and have an original solo-production built in seven days.
