Youth Represent

Youth Represent is an education startup based in the United States with a mission to provide criminal and reentry legal representation to young people involved with the justice system who can't afford an attorney. Established in 2006, the organization follows a three-pronged approach: partnering with social service organizations, offering direct representation to youth, and advocating to change laws for the reentry of court-involved New Yorkers. The startup addresses the challenges faced by low-income New Yorkers, such as being denied school loans, losing their jobs, or becoming homeless due to minor criminal convictions. They work within the neighborhoods where their clients live and ensure that their criminal history does not define their future. Youth Represent is distinguished as the only organization in New York that addresses a comprehensive array of legal issues for their clients. With thousands of young people cycling through the city’s justice system each year, the startup plays a crucial role in protecting their rights and advocating for their successful reintegration into society.
