Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) is a New Orleans-based non-profit organization established in 2004, with a mission to engage underserved young people through community-based education, mentoring, enrichment, and employment readiness programs. Serving over 900 young people and their families annually, YEP has expanded to operate in five neighborhoods in Greater New Orleans, offering four core programs: YEP Educates, YEP Enriches, YEP Mentors, and YEP Works.
YEP addresses crucial obstacles hindering young people's success, such as illiteracy, poverty, and crime, by providing a continuum of effective services that tackle the root causes of these social ills. By doing so, the organization equips young individuals with the necessary support and skills to excel in both school and their communities.
