X1 Wind

X1 Wind is a disruptive floating wind technology developer that aims to disrupt offshore wind. The company has successfully developed and proven its floating wind platform, which has the potential to bring about a step-change in offshore wind. The concept is the result of over 10 years of experience and learning in offshore renewables by the founding team. One of its key design drivers has been a significant reduction in weight compared to current systems, along with a simplified installation process that features a quick connection system. Additionally, X1 Wind has focused on eliminating unnecessary systems to reduce maintenance and improve scalability. The company has received recognition for its innovation potential, including the 2nd prize at the Cleantech Camp Contest and the support of highly renowned organizations such as Innoenergy's Highway Program and the H2020 SME Instrument. X1 Wind, headquartered in Spain, was founded in 2017 and received a €2.45M grant investment from The European Innovation Council on 07 October 2020.
