WVP Health Authority (WVPHA) is a not-for-profit taxable mutual benefit organization established in 1991, committed to pioneering sustainable and innovative healthcare solutions. With over 500 physician members and a network of 1,000 healthcare practitioners, WVPHA focuses on ensuring access, advocacy, and innovation in healthcare. The organization has a rich history that began as a provider panel for Capitol Health Care in 1976 and evolved into Mid Valley Independent Physicians Association (MVIPA) in 1991. Over the years, WVPHA has ventured into various healthcare initiatives, including the establishment of a community-based OHP health plan in 2001 and the creation of the Liberty Street Clinic in 2009 to serve unmet healthcare needs. The mission of WVPHA is to promote the efficient use of health resources, empower physicians to act as patient advocates, and foster a business environment conducive to flexibility and ethical pursuits.
