Notably, the company achieved significant milestones, such as acquiring 2,990 oil wells in fifteen states and Canada by 1959 and expanding its operations to Spain. The involvement of key figures like Richard Rainwater and Howard Hughes further shaped the company's trajectory. In 1983, the company was sold to Phillips Petroleum.
