Wimao Recycling Technologies is a Finnish startup specializing in recycling mixed plastic waste and other hard-to-recycle waste streams. Established in 2016, the company has successfully commercialized patented production technology. In partnership with Etelä-Karjalan Jätehuolto Oy, Wimao's first production plant in Lappeenranta became operational in 2018. The company focuses on two key business areas: TECHNOLOGY and PRODUCTS. Under the TECHNOLOGY segment, Wimao offers project deliveries and licenses its advanced production technology, facilitating recycling of raw material fractions that are otherwise challenging to utilize. In the PRODUCTS division, Wimao manufactures composite products using its ecological composite, Wemix®, derived from recycled plastic and various recycled fibers. Notably, the company secured a Venture Round investment in October 2019 from the European Innovation Council. Wimao actively seeks collaboration partners for product development and modification, aiming to further expand its presence in the recycling industry.
