Willowbrook Hospice

Willowbrook Hospice is an Independent Charity founded in 1993 with a mission to raise funds for the construction and operation of a Specialist Palliative Care Unit. Offering inpatient beds, outpatient clinics, and education programs, the hospice collaborates closely with the local healthcare community to enhance the quality of life for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Not confined to cancer care, the organization extends its services to patients with conditions such as motor neurone disease, end-stage heart failure, and lung disease. Contrary to common perceptions, the statistics demonstrate that a significant portion of inpatients are discharged to their preferred care setting, often at home.

The hospice plays a crucial role in delivering integrated Palliative Care Education programs to healthcare professionals, ensuring optimal care for patients. While the care is free for patients, the annual cost exceeds £5m, with only approximately 26% covered by the NHS, necessitating reliance on donations and fundraising efforts for the remaining 74%.
