WightFibre

WightFibre is a broadband company with a slogan "Broadband that works - Guaranteed!" This company offers a different kind of broadband, focusing on full-fibre, ultrafast, and future-proof services. Since 2001, WightFibre has been owning and operating its own telecommunications infrastructure independently of BT Openreach. It provides phone, TV, and broadband services to homes and businesses on the Isle of Wight. The company is committed to building a full-fibre broadband network across the island. The WightFibre Gigabit Island Project aims to deploy full-fibre broadband to over 60,000 homes and businesses across the island by 2023, with already almost 50,000 households having access. The project is expected to connect over 80,000 homes to the network. Notably, the project has received over £110M from Infracapital Partners (including funding from HM Treasury) and NatWest Bank. Additionally, WightFibre is receiving funding from Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) to extend the reach of its network to some 80,000 premises on the island.
