WePower is a green energy trading platform that connects individual business energy buyers directly with energy producers, enabling the purchase of energy upfront at below-market rates. The platform simplifies the process of entering into a power purchase agreement (PPA), offers flexibility in choosing renewable energy volumes to contract, enhances visibility of renewable energy projects, and provides liquidity for trading PPAs. WePower assists renewable energy producers in raising capital by issuing their own energy tokens. The company has created Ethereum Smart Energy contract tokens to standardize, simplify, and globally open the current energy investment ecosystem. It uses smart contracts, enabling participants to invest in and finance green energy projects as well as acquire green energy in an efficient, secure, and transparent manner. Founded in 2016, WePower is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania. It had its Seed Round investment on 01 July 2019, with participation from Connect Capital, Distributed Network Advisors, Everblu Capital, AlgoLedge, BlockchainIL, Marubeni, and Galaxy Investment Partners.
