The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is dedicated to serving those who served, by providing veterans and their family members with access to the benefits and services they earned through their military service. With a Central Office in Olympia, the department operates a Veterans Service Center and offers administrative support for all agency programs.
The department also operates four State Veteran Homes - the Washington Soldiers Home, the Washington Veterans Home, the Spokane Veterans Home, and the Walla Walla Veterans Home - providing long-term care for honorably discharged veterans, and in some cases, their spouses. Additionally, the Veterans Services and Behavioral Health Divisions offer claims assistance and counseling services for veterans and their family members, while the State Veterans Cemetery provides a final resting place to honor veterans.
With a population of 593,350 Veterans, 44,397 Active Duty, 18,872 Guard and Reserve, and 2,000,000 Family Members, the department plays a crucial role in supporting and connecting veterans and their families to the benefits they deserve.
