VRP Medical Center is a renowned health care institution, originally established as Polymedic General Hospital in 1967. Founded by Dr. Victor R. Potenciano, Col. Pelagio G. Potenciano, M.D. Arsenio G. Francisco, M.D., Mrs. Irma P.E. Potenciano, and Flora P. Caviles, the hospital underwent a name change to VRP Medical Center in 1998 to avoid confusion with other entities. Notably, the center achieved its initial ISO certification from Anglo-Japanese American Registrars, Inc. in June 2001 and has since obtained additional certifications, including ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System and OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety.
