VOCSens

VOCSens is a biotechnology startup based in Belgium. Founded in 2019, the company's slogan, "We create your future smart sensing solutions for remote environmental, chemical, and industrial emissions monitoring," highlights its focus on developing advanced sensing solutions. The company is a spin-off from the Sensors, Microsystems and Actuators Laboratory of Louvain (SMALL) research group at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). It leverages over 10 years of research on CMOS-compatible environmental sensors development and characterization, positioning itself as a leader in the field. VOCSens aims to develop and commercialize ultra-low-power low-cost multi-pixel CMOS gas microsensors dedicated to selective volatile compounds detection in the Internet of Things and the Industry 4.0. Its first product, EnviCam®, offers a unique low-cost smart sensing platform featuring wireless communication through LPWAN networks, effectively combining gas, particulates, temperature, and humidity sensors. This innovative approach has significant applications in environmental monitoring and industrial control such as EHS, HVAC systems, and alarm systems. The latest milestone for VOCSens is the €2.50M Seed Round investment secured on 24 September 2021 from investors including the Innovation Fund, WING by Digital Wallonia, Industrya, VIVES Funds, and invest.bw. This funding will enable the company to further develop its advanced sensing technologies and expand its presence in the market, contributing to its potential for future growth and success within the industry.
