Veiligheidsregio Kennemerland:
Veiligheidsregio Kennemerland (VRK) is one of the 25 safety regions in the Netherlands since 2008. It comprises 9 municipalities, along with fire department, public health service (GGD), police, and the royal marechaussee (kmar), creating a vibrant and dynamic safety region.
What do they do? In order to enhance safety in the region and be well-prepared for disasters and crises, municipalities and emergency services join forces. They collaborate intensively in crisis management, disaster response, fire brigade services, medical assistance in disasters, and enforcement of public order and safety.
Working at VRK: With over 800 employees and 400 volunteer firefighters, the organization fosters a culture of collaboration. From firefighters to GGD doctors and office personnel, the organization brings together colleagues with diverse backgrounds and expertise to ensure the region's safety and well-being.
