United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI)

The United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a partnership established in 1992 between UNEP and the global financial sector with the goal of mobilizing private sector finance for sustainable development. With the slogan "Working with banks, insurers and investors to accelerate sustainable finance," UNEP FI collaborates with over 500 members – banks, insurers, and investors along with more than 100 supporting institutions to promote a financial sector that serves both people and the planet. Headquartered in Switzerland, UNEP FI's core mission is to inspire, inform, and enable financial institutions to enhance people’s quality of life without compromising that of future generations.
