However, the airport has surpassed its 2019 passenger numbers in August 2022, with current figures standing at 4.2 million. It is forecasted to reach 5 million passengers by the end of 2022. In December 2020, the Kastrati Group SHA acquired 100% of the share capital, and in March 2021, the Concession Period was extended to 2040 with a planned investment of 100 million € by Kastrati Group.
