The Salvimet Project is championing an eco-friendly future with innovative biodegradable solutions for health and the environment. The name Salvimet is derived from Latin words Salvatore and Amet, meaning The Saviour of the environment. Their mission is clear: to protect mother nature from nonbiodegradable waste, driven by a vision to fight for the planet rather than abandon it. According to the United Nations Water Development Report-2018, by 2050, 6 billion people around the world may face clean-water scarcity, accentuating the need for sustainable solutions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the correlation between public health and non-biodegradable biomedical equipment became evident, leading to substantial water contamination. In response, Salvimet began collaborating with advisors from universities worldwide and developing equipment that serves as a solution in both health and environmental contexts. Their focus lies in creating cost-effective, biodegradable, and antimicrobial medical and nonmedical equipment. For example, they have innovated masks that are as safe as the N-95 and environmentally friendly, addressing the issue of non-biodegradable medical waste. They source natural resources for their solutions, making their products more affordable than existing options. Another part of their team focuses on addressing global crises and developing effective products. Their last investment of BDT50.00K was in the form of a grant investment on 07 March 2022. With this grant investment, Salvimet aims to further their mission and contribute to a sustainable, eco-friendly future for people and the planet.
