The Ryder Cup, founded in 1927, is golf’s pre-eminent event, biennially bringing together 12-member teams from the U.S. and Europe. The 2023 Ryder Cup will be held at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, a stadium golf course just half an hour’s drive from the Eternal City of Rome. The course, nestled in 350 acres of stunning Roman countryside, presents a true test of physical and mental skill for Europe and USA.
Ryder Cup Europe, comprising representatives of the European Tour Group (60% ownership), the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland (20% ownership), and the Confederation of Professional Golf (20% ownership), holds the rights of the Ryder Cup when the competition is hosted in Europe. Meanwhile, the PGA of America owns the rights when the competition is held in the United States.
