Founded in 2019 by media industry veterans and longtime collaborators John Battelle and John Heilemann, the company was acquired by The News Movement in 2022. The Recount cuts through the noise and stale narratives of so much broadcast and cable coverage, never wasting our audience’s time or insulting their intelligence, and drives true dialogue instead of mindless division—all the while maintaining the highest traditional editorial standards.
