The PCRI (Prostate Cancer Research Institute) is a non-profit organization established in 1996. The institute aims to enhance men's lives by supporting research and distributing information to educate and empower patients, families, and the medical community. Founded by renowned prostate cancer oncologists Mark Scholz, MD and Stephen Strum, MD, with backing from the Daniel Freeman Hospital Foundation, PCRI focuses on insightful clinical research and high-level educational activities for both patients and physicians.
PCRI believes that well-informed patients can effectively communicate with their physicians and achieve better treatment outcomes. Through various communication tools including the Helpline, Insights Newsletter, Conferences, Website, Research, and Advocacy, the organization fulfills its mission. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit education and research organization, PCRI qualifies for maximum charitable gift deductions by individual donors (Federal Tax ID# 95-4617875).
