The CUNY Institute for Implementation Science in Population Health
Founded in 2016, The CUNY Institute for Implementation Science in Population Health (ISPH) is dedicated to conducting impactful, cutting-edge research on population health and related outcomes. The institute brings together multidisciplinary teams of researchers aiming to assess the effectiveness and impact of interventions, strategies, initiatives, and policies aimed at improving population health worldwide.
The primary goal of ISPH is to conduct large-scale research studies on population health and intervention implementation in real-world settings, outside the research environment. The institute collaborates with public sector health agencies, health care organizations, clinical researchers, community-based organizations, and policymakers, fostering research collaborations across different health outcomes and disease types.
By leveraging successful multi-disciplinary partnerships across all of CUNY’s colleges, professional schools, and institutes, ISPH facilitates cutting-edge and impactful research collaborations at the intersection of implementation science and population health.
The Institute not only provides research and training opportunities for faculty, students, post-doctoral fellows, and interns, but also hosts themed special events, such as symposia and seminars, to curate and share knowledge in the field. Additionally, it offers hands-on research training for masters/doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows, and host visiting scholars at the intersection of implementation science and population health.
With its focus on applying rigorous scientific methods to improve population health outcomes, ISPH serves as a valuable incubator for expertise in the health care industry and contributes to the development of impactful strategies for population health implementation.
