Technology for Energy Corp. (TEC) is an employee-owned company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. The startup designs and manufactures diagnostic instruments for four diverse industries through its four divisions: Aviation (ACES Systems), Materials Testing, Nuclear Power, and Electric Power (Powermetrix). The Aviation division, ACES Systems, has established a strong reputation in the industrial world for its on-wing ground support maintenance equipment and condition monitoring instruments used in aircraft maintenance, engine manufacturers' test cells, and overhaul facilities. Their instruments cater to various aircraft maintenance applications, including measuring engine vibration and noise levels and monitoring turbine engine performance. TEC's Materials Testing division has been designing and manufacturing residual stress analysis systems since 1984, utilizing x-ray diffraction for analyzing the surface of metal and ceramic components for stresses occurring during manufacturing, reworking, or operation. In the Nuclear Power industry, TEC gained recognition for its quality design and manufacturing of monitoring systems, serving nuclear power production companies since its establishment in 1975. Further expanding its expertise, TEC acquired Powermetrix Corporation in 1998, strengthening its presence in the Electric Power industry. The division, now known as TEC Powermetrix, specializes in designing and manufacturing electric power measurement instruments for the power sector.
