TALPA Inspection

TALPA Inspection is a Switzerland-based startup focusing on the reliable and non-destructive inspection of buried reinforced concrete structures. Founded in 2023, the company's slogan underscores its commitment to addressing the challenges associated with conventional inspection methods. The team, stemming from the ETH Zurich “Durability of Engineering Materials research group”, has been dedicated to researching efficient non-destructive inspection methods since 2019.

With a primary focus on the inspection of cantilever retaining walls, TALPA aims to mitigate the risks associated with corrosion damage in such structures, which can compromise their load-bearing capacity and pose life-threatening hazards. The company has developed an innovative inspection probe capable of identifying localized corrosion spots through electrochemical measurements, facilitated by maneuvering the probe through existing drainage pipes adjacent to construction joints. This unique approach allows for continuous inspection along the entire length of the retaining wall, overcoming the limitations of traditional spot inspection methods.

The latest milestone for TALPA Inspection involved securing a Fr.10.00K grant investment from Venture Kick on 27 July 2023. This investment supports the company's mission to revolutionize the inspection of buried reinforced concrete structures, addressing critical safety concerns in the construction industry.
