SVKM’s Shri C.B. Patel Research Centre is a Recognized organization, accredited with the followings: • DCGI Approved Independent Ethics Committee Registered under Drugs Controller General, Government of India (DCGI), as an Independent Ethics Committee that assess and provide approval for carrying out Clinical Research in Bio-Equivalence studies. • Dept. Of Scientific & Industrial Research, Government of India Recognized as a scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Dept. Of Scientific Industrial Research, Govt. of India since 1994. • Affiliated to University of Mumbai University of Mumbai under Section 84 of the Maharashtra University Act as a Research Institute to register students for M.Sc (By Research) and Ph.D. programmes from 1996. • U. S. Department of Health and Humans Service This committee is registered under U. S. Department of Health and Humans Service (HHS), Registration number being IORG0008389 and IRB00010057. • Thalassemia Detection and Prevention Unit The Thalassemia Unit was set up in 1997 with support from Mumbai Thalassemic Society (MTS) and Parents Association Thalassemic Unit Trust (PATUT). The unit screens and counsel students from different schools and colleges for various blood ailments. • Income Tax Exemption for Research Approved under Section 35 (1)(ii) of Income Tax Act (1961) for the purpose of Receiving Donation/Financial Assistance for Research. Exemption can be claimed to the extent of 175%.
