Station Fire Memorial Foundation
The Station Fire Memorial Foundation was founded in 2003 with the aim of honoring the lives lost in the Station Fire through the establishment of a memorial and park. The foundation's mission is to foster long-term community participation and support for affected families and survivors. It was established by family members and friends of the 100 individuals who tragically lost their lives in the fire. The organization has acquired the land at 211 Cowestt Ave., known as the Station Site, where they plan to create the Memorial Park.
Maintenance of the Memorial Park will require ongoing fundraising efforts, and the foundation is seeking active involvement from the families affected and the survivors of the tragedy. The foundation received a $2.00M Venture Round investment on 17 October 2016, demonstrating the support and interest it has garnered for its mission.
The foundation operates in a unique space, where its impact is not only measured in financial success but also in the emotional and community value it provides. By engaging deeply with the affected community and continuing its fundraising efforts, the foundation is positioning itself to create a lasting impact in honoring the memory of the Station Fire victims.
