Southern Linc is an Atlanta, Georgia based integrated digital wireless service provider that started serving commercial customers in February 1996. The company was created by its parent company, Southern Company (NYSE: SO), to address the wireless communications needs of commercial users and Southern Company's subsidiaries including Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Gulf Power, and Mississippi Power.

Southern Linc is renowned for its highly reliable Push To Talk (PTT) communications, featuring built-in redundancies, power back-ups, and security features designed to ensure communication even in the most adverse weather conditions. It has withstood severe hurricanes, tornadoes, and storms, attesting to its reliability.

The company is set to introduce its new CriticalLinc 4G LTE Advanced network to existing customers in 2018. This network will cater to the critical voice and data needs of state and local governments, area businesses, and its largest customer, Southern Company’s electric utilities. The network will provide network encryption over the air and Mission Critical Push To Talk (MCPTT) service from Motorola Solutions, the first US offering of Motorola’s robust two-way radio service designed for public sector and first responder radio users. This new wireless network employs redundant systems and geographically diverse core data centers to enhance its reliability.
