Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) has been providing safe, efficient, and dependable ferry services across Quebec since 1971. The company's primary objectives include improving access to isolated regions, connecting segments of major highways, providing inter-regional ferry services to decongest major highways, and connecting urban public transit systems. STQ operates a network of 13 maritime services that extends from Montreal to the Lower North Shore and the Magdalen Islands in eastern Quebec. With approximately 600 employees dedicated to providing quality service, STQ manages more than 112,000 crossings annually, transporting over 5.2 million passengers and 2.1 million vehicles. Moreover, the company collaborates closely with Quebec's Ministry of Transport, Sustainable Mobility, and Transport Electrification on matters related to maritime passenger transportation and port facilities maintenance, and frequently lends its expertise in consultations involving multiple regional stakeholders.
