Seriti Resources

Seriti Resources is a black-controlled South African mining company with a strong focus on sustainable and transformational energy for South Africa and global coal export markets. Founded in 1983, the company boasts a board and management team with significant experience in large-scale coal operations. In April 2017, Seriti acquired the New Vaal, New Denmark, and Kriel operations from Anglo American, and in June 2021, it acquired South Africa Energy Coal from South32. This acquisition positions Seriti as Eskom’s largest black-controlled coal supplier, emphasizing its commitment to providing secure, long-term coal supply solutions to fuel energy generation. The company's dedication to sustainability is exemplified by ring-fencing 10% of its equity for the benefit of employees and communities through employee and community trusts.
