SEPI is a public holding company in Spain, aiming to contribute to the economic and social development of the country. Established in 1995, it operates through three main lines of business. Firstly, as the leading public enterprise holding in Spain, it focuses on fostering the growth and development of its companies while striving for both economic and social profitability. With majority shareholding in 14 companies and minority direct participation in 9 others, SEPI's influence extends to over 100 companies. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in shaping the country's industrial strategy, particularly in sectors such as postal services, agri-food, logistics, naval construction, national defense, communication, energy, and finance. Employing nearly 80,000 individuals across all regions of Spain, SEPI is deeply embedded in the national economy. Moreover, SEPI contributes to the recovery of the business fabric post-pandemic through the Fund for Support of the Solvency of Strategic Companies. Notably, it also operates a public foundation, FUNDACIÓN SEPI, which focuses on promoting practical training programs for young graduates without work experience, alongside economic studies and publications. As a key player in the manufacturing industry, SEPI remains a central force in the economic landscape of Spain.
