Scipio bioscience, a biotech startup based in France, unfortunately ceased its operations on 18/09/2024. The company's vision was to empower researchers with the tools for single-cell sequencing, reflected in its slogan, "Single-cell sequencing on every benchtop." Founded in 2017, Scipio aimed to accelerate disease understanding with its Asteria benchtop kit for easy scRNA-seq sample preparation and its Cytonaut intuitive cloud-based data analysis software. The last investment of €2.13M came from the European Innovation Council in the form of a Convertible Note investment on 28 July 2023. Scipio bioscience operated from the Paris Santé Cochin incubator, located in the renowned Parisian Cochin Hospital. Despite the passion and dedication to molecular advancements in the biopharma and biotechnology industries, the company faced challenges leading to its closure.
