Safe and Equal

Safe and Equal is the peak body for specialist family violence services supporting victim survivors in Victoria. Established in 1986, the organization's vision extends beyond gender-based violence, striving for a world where everyone, especially those from marginalized communities, feels safe, thrives, and is respected. While not a direct service provider, Safe and Equal collaborates with other organizations to amplify the voices of victim survivors and instigate change. Their areas of expertise encompass primary prevention, early intervention, response and recovery approaches, and their inter-connections. Based in Australia, Safe and Equal operates on Wurundjeri Country and acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' custodianship. The organization also embraces and respects individuals of all genders, sexes, and sexualities, maintaining a commitment to improve access and inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ communities.
