Rhode Island Quality Institute (RIQI) is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 with the slogan "Improving health care through trusted data." Functioning as a catalyst for collaborative innovation, RIQI focuses on advancing health and care transformation through strategic partnerships with healthcare leaders, government and industry organizations, and community groups. Leveraging expertise in health information exchange, provider interoperability, and quality improvement science, RIQI's initiatives aim to drive cutting-edge practice transformation while addressing the needs and opportunities in the community. The organization is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of senior health industry leaders, consumer group representatives, academia, and government agency leaders.
RIQI's primary goal is to facilitate improvements in health and healthcare in the state by driving initiatives that improve care coordination, reduce medical errors and waste, advance quality measurement, and engage consumers, patients, and families in their care. Adhering to the belief that collaborative efforts yield greater results than individual endeavors, the institute seeks to bring about positive change in the healthcare landscape, aiming to address challenges that cannot be tackled independently.
