The company's history dates back to 1992 when it operated as Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc. Under this name, the company launched its first full system of instruments and implants for a major orthopedic OEM partner in 1993, which is still revered as best in class. After achieving success and establishing itself as an innovator in the orthopedic community, RTI Biologics acquired Pioneer Surgical Technology, Inc. in 2013, creating RTI Surgical. Following this, Montagu Private Equity LLP acquired RTI Surgical’s OEM business in 2020. In response to rapid growth and high industry demand in its divisions, the RTI Surgical Metals division spun off in 2022 to form Resolve Surgical Technologies.
