RAICES

RAICES is a legal tech organization with a mission to defend the human and legal rights of immigrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking families. Established in 1986 as the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, it has evolved from a two-person team in San Antonio to inclusive operations across Texas. The organization responded to immigration policies and legal barriers for Central American refugees, gaining accreditation as a legal services provider in 1993. In 2017, they expanded to include refugee resettlement services in collaboration with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI).

Their transformative journey from the Sanctuary Movement reflects the commitment to making legal and social services accessible to all, advocating for equitable outcomes in immigration court.
