QuantaSol Ltd

QuantaSol Ltd is a spin-out from Imperial College London and aims to establish itself as a world-leading supplier of high-efficiency III-V based solar cells. The company's pioneering use of nanostructures, such as quantum wells and quantum dots for solar photovoltaics, sets it apart. With its unique, patented technology, QuantaSol will manufacture single and multi-junction concentrator solar cells, positioning itself at the forefront of photovoltaic cell technology. This innovation offers not only greater conversion efficiency but also better spectral performance and longer cell lifetimes compared to competing cells. Founded in 2006, the company operates in the Information Technology and Renewable Energy sectors. QuantaSol secured a substantial £1.18M Venture Round investment on 17 June 2009, with the backing of Low Carbon Accelerator as the investor.
