Proficiency is a feature-based CAD translation offering of ITI TranscenData, the CAD Data Interoperability business within International TechneGroup, Inc. Founded in 1998, the solution enables manufacturers and their suppliers to extract and share implicit product knowledge from various engineering and manufacturing environments. Addressing migration, supplier delivery, and partner delivery in multi-CAD and PLM/PDM environments, Proficiency facilitates the use of product design systems in engineering through manufacturing processes for product knowledge integration. It automatically extracts explicit and implicit product knowledge from a source system, such as a 3D CAD system, and converts the model to the universal product representation. This allows customers to retain implicit knowledge when migrating to a new CAD system or consolidating into one. The partner delivery solution provides product knowledge exchange in JT, STEP, or native feature-based CAD files, while the supplier delivery solution enables feature-based, native CAD files to meet product delivery requirements. Proficiency serves companies in the automotive, aerospace and defense, and heavy machinery industries. The latest investment was a $4.25M Venture Round investment on 26 February 2008, which came from Pitango Venture Capital, Viola Ventures, and Invemed Catalyst Fund. The company is headquartered in the United States.
